We opened Café Gainz because we kept noticing the same gap: East Delhi has no shortage of gyms, but very few places nearby built specifically around what people training actually need to eat. After serving this crowd for a while, a few patterns have become pretty consistent — not from a formal survey, just from watching what people order and ask about day to day.
The first is that most people massively underestimate how much protein they're actually getting versus how much they think they're getting. "I eat a lot of dal and paneer, I should be fine" is something we hear often, and it's usually not true — dal is a decent protein source but not a dense one, and a lot of paneer preparations are cooked in enough oil and gravy that the calorie cost outpaces the protein benefit. People are often surprised when we walk through the actual numbers on a dish.
